A board that reads the Wi-Fi in a room and says whether anyone is there.

No recorded steps
Some pieces of it have run. There are no recorded steps for this project, so this page does not give any.
What exists:
- LP-EM-CC35X1: TI's presence model ran on the board: first result 7.4 s after the host asked, one every 2.0 s, and it fits in one image with a Matter thermostat. It does not separate empty from occupied in this room: 135 of 136 windows in an empty, closed room read present (2026-10-09). A second run on 2026-10-13, 6,290 results over about 4 h, read 100 percent present (cc35x1/csi/results/2026-10-13-freerun.csv).
You would need the board, plus CC35X1 LaunchPad development kit and LP-XDS110ET debugger.
What to build next
Every build. The code for all of them is in the GitHub repository.
Evidence and limitsTI's model runs, with a result every 2 s, but in this house it said present in 98 percent of windows, even in an empty room. Ran on 1 board. Results, sources, timing and limits.

| Could work | Does TI's Wi-Fi CSI presence model on the LP-EM-CC35X1 detect a person in a room through the house Wi-Fi, and how well? CC35X1, 2026-10-09 | In a lived-in house the shipped model said "presence" in 98% of scored windows across 21 minutes. In the one phase with a known label, the room empty with the door closed, it said "presence" in 135 of 136 windows. It... |
| Can one LP-EM-CC35X1 run the Matter thermostat built here and TI's Wi-Fi CSI presence detection at the same time, and what does it cost? CC35X1, 2026-10-12 | It fits, boots, pairs and runs. The Matter thermostat and TI's CSI presence pipeline link into one image with 12.1 kB of main RAM and 0.2 kB of TCM to spare. The pipeline's buffers are routed to main RAM, because TI's... |
